Welcome To The Little Red House Tour

This picture is of the west bedroom.  You are looking at the door
to a storage area (left) and the door to the attic.  The original stairs
into the attic did not go up all the way.  In the 1800's, Mrs. Zachariah
Howard, who was an avid cat lover, wanted her cats to have access to
all parts of the house, so she had an addition put on the stairs, so her
cats could get up to the attic.  Mrs. Howard outlived her husband by 50 years.
